American Accent Workshop

Melbourne Acting Academy is at it again, offering the best course's at the cheapest cost to performers. This time we are offering and American Accent Workshop with the most sort after dialect coach in Australia.

This course consists of six sessions to be conducted over four weeks totaling 16 hours of class time. The first two weeks will comprise twice weekly sessions of two hours duration. Weeks 3 and 4 will comprise of one three hour session each week.

The initial sessions will approach the fundamentals of the accent and approach the aural, visual and kinaesthetic aspects of accent acquisition.

The accent to be studied will be standard American however the process studied will give participants a greater understanding of accent analysis which will enable them to approach regional U.S accents..

In order for participants to experience the challenge of maintaining accent while dealing with demands of the text, both monologues and scenes will be used in the sessions. Authenticity requires the actor to embody the accent and this course aims to provide participants not only with that experience but also with a process that they can understand and apply.
