Hi this is Sean, and i have an urgent casting need for my English Ext. 2 Film project. One of my actors had sheduling difficulties and had to back out. Therefore i am in desparate need for a replacement.
The film is about a bored office worker who is drifting through life as just a person working for the global society, in a cubicle, with paper work thats ever building. His life is a routine, the same and little difference, lacks substance, he lives alone in an appartment, with no real friends except superficial fakes. This is the life he lives.
This is until one day, he gets stuck inside an elevator and is unable to get out, all he has is his briefcase, and the elevator help button to talk to (who isnt of much help).
He has no concept of time or space, no food, no water. Therefore he slowly mentally and physically disintergrates, but in this traumatic experience, manages to realise that his life itself is an elevator, and upon his escape, he realises that the life he lived, isnt the only way.
The film is called "An Elevated Sense of Living"
This film will deal with the global society's control over the individual, "retreat from the global", isolation, identity, technology and its control over our lives.
I would class it as a drama, but its offbeat, therefore id say probably black comedy. Plus its a film that mostly tells its tale through expession without words, and mostly actions. This way things are more open and less limited by things like narration, its open to interpetation. There is more dialogue as it progresses
What i need to be re-cast is his snooty supervisor, Mr Strummer, who is work obsessed, always calls Nick White (the office worker) by the wrong name and is superficial - aged abit older than Nick or more, say about 30s-60s
Its the role that has great dialogue and great portrayl of a greedy business man type and i think its a good part for an actor to showcase his range in characterisation.
Im trying to plan to shoot on this coming Saturday of 21st June 2008 at the CityGroup building on George Street in Town Hall, and id really like this role cast by then, so please please please if you are interested contact me on:

hi my name is Sean, and im a student at Newington College Stanmore and i am looking for some good actors and actresses for my film for English Ext. 2. to film on dates within the time period of early april - late may thereabouts. Ideally i can do it in two separate days, ill work with your shedules, but yes id love to have a quick shoot, due to being in yr 12, being in multiple drama plays, HSC art project as well as time for the film to be edited.

What i need is a person aged early 20s - 30s to play Henry Gorman - the office worker on the journey, he's quite reserved at the start but soon becomes a little eccentric due to his stay in the elevator.
What i also need is his snooty supervisor, Mr Strummer, who is work obsessed, always calls Henry by the wrong name and is superficial - aged abit older than Henry or more, say about 30s-60s
I also need two other workers for smaller parts, as superficial office workers Henry encounters, they are jokey and fun
I also need is a young woman to play the apparition of the elevator voice, which is through Henry's hallucinations, becomes a person and they converse. His only company in the elevator is this voice and because of his isolation becomes a person, but is still very cold due to her robotic nature.
Also theres a small part of a secretary that is the first to discover Henry, a nice little funny bit
Most likely one of these women can also be cast as an angry telemarketer which Henry converses with over the phone
Also if theres access to an appartment building you own, thatd be great too:)
And if anyone is interested in other parts i havent mentioned and would like to ask about them, more than welcome
This film will be no more than 8 minutes, and the shoot wont be long, as im a focused director and a passionate one at that
The location of the filming would be in the CityGroup building in the city, level 32, Burwood on a roof, a small part in an appartment (one where Henry lives alone, shows how sad he is, only small part), on an unused train track near where i live (in Haberfield, which is near Leichardt, Ashfield, Balmain etc.) for a scene where Henry begins to loose sense of place in the elevator, my school Newington College for Blue-Screen shots. There could be more locations if need be, i will get back on that one, although atm, those are probably it. The shoot will probably begin with the building in the early morning (which only involves Henry) plus filming scattered quick scenes (henry on train, henry coming home to his appartment, eating dinner alone, watching reality tv, looking at self in mirror in bathroom, lying awake in bed, then getting up in the morning) then proceed to go to the city and film all the office scenes (which involves Henry, Strummer, Secretary, the two office workers). Then on another day, filming will be done at my school (which will involve Henry and the Apparition).
With cameras, i have access to a high definition camera, so the final product will look very professional.

(Note the quality of these movies are 100 times better than what u see, its just stupid video.google that made it look pixally and jumpy, i assure you of this. But still enjoy)
Being only 17, its hard to find older actors n actresses for this kind of movie, but im a filmmaker who wants to go that step further and do it better than everyone else, when im older i dream to become a filmmaker, ive already made two short films, along with other smaller projects, and im passionate. You wont find me not doing my job. Im also open to your opinions, as im also a drama student and know that actor/director relationships are important. Please dont be put off by the size of the roles, some are in it for single scenes but they are key to the film and are fun scenes. The only constant character throughout is Henry, the others are in scattered scenes.

For those who arent interested in major parts, ie those who want to just help out, we will need approximately 10 extras to act as office workers in the background, sometimes in the foreground and some who will get some individual non-speaking screen time.
