The 2012 PAGE International Screenwriting Awards competition!!
This is our 9th anniversary year, and in just a few months our Judges will once again be presenting a total of 31 Awards to some of the most talented new screenwriters from across the country and around the world. Our winning writers will receive cash and prizes totaling over $50,000 – including our huge $25,000 Grand Prize – plus Gold, Silver & Bronze Prizes in each of our ten genre categories.
The PAGE Awards competition has become one of the most important sources for new screenwriting talent within the Hollywood community and worldwide. Over the past few years, many of our winning writers have gone on to land screenwriting assignments, secure representation, and sign option agreements on their work, and several now have movies and television shows in production and release. Over the past few years, many of our winning writers have gone on to land screenwriting assignments, secure representation, and sign option agreements on their work, and several now have movies and television shows in production and release. - 2011 Grand Prize winner Pat White has been signed by Brandy Rivers at Magnet Management, and Pat is now developing the book version of her award-winning script ESCAPE for publication.
2011 PAGE Award winner Laurelei Ballard has been signed by PAGE Judge Sammy Montana, and Laurelei’s Bronze Prize-winning TV Pilot THIS TOWN has been optioned by Fox Studios, with Paul Schiff and Tai Duncan attached as Executive Producers.
Ray Liotta stars in the 2010 Bronze Prize-winning thriller BAD KARMA, by Steve Allrich. Produced by Zero Gravity Productions, the movie was recently filmed in Australia and is now in post-production. It will be distributed by Anchor Bay Films.
After his 2010 win, Gold Prize winner John Scott III was signed by CAA, and his award-winning script MAGGIE is currently in pre-production. John has also landed two high profile writing assignments: adapting the Tad Williams novel "Otherworld" for Warner Bros. and adapting Isaac Asimov’s "Caves of Steel" for Twentieth Century Fox.
PAPER TRAIL, by 2010 Gold Prize winners Louis Rosenberg and Joe Rosenbaum has just been picked up by Sidney Kimmel, and Louis and Joe’s spec MINDPLAY recently sold to Echo Lake. Louis and Joe are repped by PAGE Judge Eric Williams of Zero Gravity Management.
2009 Gold Prize winner Robert Sudduth has been hired as a staff writer on the ABC series GOOD CHRISTIAN BELLES. Rob was signed by Adesuwa McCalla of MetaMorphic Management shortly after his PAGE win.
Matthew McConaughey is attached to star in the 2008 Gold Prize-winning drama CONFESSIONS OF A HEADHUNTER (now titled THE HEADHUNTER'S CALLING), by Bill Dubuque. And Jake Gyllenhaal is attached to star in Bill’s spec THE ACCOUNTANT.
The new sitcom SPY, created and written by 2008 Gold Prize winner Simeon Goulden, is currently airing on SKY 1 HD in the U.K., and is also available on Hulu. Simeon is repped by the Curtis Brown Agency in London.
The 2007 Bronze Prize-winning drama DONOVAN'S ECHO, by Jim Cliffe and Melodie Krieger, was filmed on location in Vancouver, starring Danny Glover and Bruce Greenwood, directed by Jim Cliffe. The movie is currently screening in film festivals and will be distributed by Union Pictures.
2007 Gold Prize winner Marc Conklin was commissioned to write the new feature MEMORIAL DAY (aka SOUVENIRS), which is currently in post-production. The movie was shot on location in Minnesota, starring James Cromwell and Jonathan Bennett.
Adam Balsam’s 2005 Silver Prize-winning sitcom PRESENT TENSE was optioned by James Brown, and Adam’s animated feature adaptation DOROTHY OF OZ is currently in post-production, voiced by an all-star cast that includes Lea Michele, Dan Aykroyd, James Belushi, Kelsey Grammer and Patrick Stewart.
